We work diligently with local partner agencies to educate neighbourhoods and communities on how to keep safe, react to an emergency should they be involved in one but primarily, with the aim of preventing fire occurring in the first instance.
In addition to their emergency response duties, such as Fire, Road Traffic Accidents, flooding, and chemical incidents operational fire fighters carry out other vital tasks to reduce the risk to the community of Gateshead. The delivery of home safety checks (HSC) are key to our goal of preventing loss of life from fires and other emergencies and promote community well being.
